Fully Automatic Multi-unitization Continuous Ion Exchange System!!!

The contrinuous ion exchange system of our company had been widley used in Glucose/Fructose/sorbitol production plant, this system had many advantages when compared to traditional ion exchange:
 
1. Utilization rate of resin increased
  Just as described above, it greatly improves the utilization rate of the resin, increases the production capacity of each regeneration cycle and decreases the use of regenerant and water.
2. Distribution effect of resin column improvement
 This system separates the resin into many resin columns whose diameter is not exceed 1.5m. This structure can avoid occurring bias current short circuit during the running process, and then improves the efficiency.
3. In-series running to reduce consumption and pollution
In order to use water and chemicals comprehensively, the desugarization and regeneration process are proceed in serial. The water-top sugar process flow and the regeneration and drip washing process flow are shown as following:

4. Beneficial for controlling products quality stably
During the running process in fixed bed system or other big bed system, there may be larger fluctuation in the product quality when switching columns (mainly on the concentration, conductivity, color, pH, etc.). But in the multi-unitization system, it uses parallel manner to purify the material. So there is only a small invalid column moving out and a small fresh column getting in when switching every time. Of course the influence on the system fluctuation is much smaller. The running process of the system and the switching ways of resin column are shown following picture:

5. Fully automatic control

The operation is simple and flexible. Although there are many control points and operation is complicate, but these tedious actions are all controlled by accurate instruments and valve groups. The running parameters are set according to different process load, they can also be adjusted flexibly according to the quality (pH, conductivity & color) of product. It is more convenient to expand production in the future with lower investment and short period. It only needs to add some small resin columns to expand productivity as long as there is enough reserve space. Furthermore, there is no need to replace the whole system.
