Introduction

 

Glucose is derived from starch, the most basic unit of starch. Starch is a polysaccharide substance that mainly stores energy in nature. It is mainly found in seeds, stems and roots of plants. Purified starch is mainly used in the food and beverage industry to produce starch hydrolysates and glucose. Glucose is mainly made from corn starch milk (also from other grains, such as rice starch, wheat starch and tapioca starch) through deep processing.

Glucose is a raw material for the production of many substances, such as sorbitol produced by hydrogenation, fructose syrup produced by enzyme isomerization, or used as fermentation material to produce biochemical products with high added value, such as antibiotics, amino acids, organic acids, monosodium glutamate and ethanol. As a nutritional medicine in medical industry, it can enhance human body energy, and has detoxification and diuretic effects.

Crystal glucose is the generic terms of the glucose under crystallization condition, which is a relatively speaking of liquid glucose and whole glucose powder. There are three kinds according to the utility, such as industrial grade, edible and injection. It can be directly absorbed by human body instead of through digesting. So it is suitable for the patient eat, also can be injected into the blood stream for severe patients with urgent need. Glucose is the basic raw material of the fermentation industry, also a substitute of sugar cane in food and pastry processing.
